Red State, Blue State. I'm curious as to why the "conservative" states are called "Red" and the liberal ones "Blue" . To me, life here in the People's Republic of Massachusetts is similar to the old Soviet Union ergo "Red" seems far more appropriate for the liberal havens. Maybe it's just because being governed by the self-proclaimed elite makes one "blue" living here.
